You have questions?

We have answers!

Our staff are always available to answer any questions you have in-person, over the phone, or via email. But in case you’re a fan of “do-it-yourself,” we’ve included the answers to some of our most frequently asked questions below. Don’t see what you need here? Give us a call at 577-7323.

How do I get a library card?

Library cards are issued free of charge to county residents aged 18 or over upon presentation of a photo ID with permanent address. Cards may be requested at any library branch. If your photo ID does not show your permanent address, please bring separate proof of address within the county, such as a utility bill, bank statement, or rent receipt in your name. Those under 18 requesting cards must have a parent or guardian accompany them to sign the application form. Parents are responsible for any fees associated with their minor child’s card.

How do I replace a lost library card?

A fee of $1 is charged to replace stolen, lost, or damaged library cards. You will need to present photo ID at a library service desk to get a replacement card.

How do I find my PIN?

Your PIN is the password associated with your account. If you do not know your PIN, you may reset it here. NOTE: You must have a valid email address on file to use this method. If you do not have an email on file with the library, please call 307.577.7323 or ask for your PIN at any library branch.

How do I place a hold?

Library items that are already checked out or not yet available may be placed on hold. You will be added to the waiting list and notified by phone, email or text message when the item is ready to pick up.

  • Holds can be placed in person, by phone, or through the Library Catalog
  • Items will be available to pick up for three days at the location of your choice
  • To sign up for text or email alerts, visit My Account or ask a librarian
